American Heart Association
The AHA is well-known and respected for its research and advancements in cardiovascular health and being proactive in the fight against heart disease and stroke. 80% of heart disease and stroke can be prevented by implementing healthy lifestyle behaviors, yet it unfortunately remains America's #1 killer and each day, thousands of lives end due to heart disease and stroke.
Over the past few years, the organization has taken a more focused approach to addressing issues of health equity and creating a culture of health, working to ensure ALL people have access to things like healthy food and continue to educate the community on the importance of moving more, not using tobacco, and being aware of their blood pressure. We are advocating for underserved populations and partnering with local organizations to create sustainable solutions. All while continuing to raise critical funds and investing in research to keep more hearts beating. The mission to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives is more important than ever, and we are counting on supporters and volunteers to help us bring an end to heart disease and stroke.
